Best Prop Firm Indicators on TradingView (2026), Code-Read.

We read the code of 15 open-source scripts from TradingView's prop firm and drawdown search, plus the three most-boosted risk managers: where each one's numbers come from, and which daily loss and drawdown rules it really checks.

PL · 7 min read
Explainer cover titled Best prop firm indicators, code-read: a table of six TradingView scripts against three checks, where the numbers come from, whether the daily loss is measured from the day's start, and which drawdown floor it models. The most-boosted script reads its own simulated trades; two small ones model the rules best.

Short answer: no TradingView indicator can read your prop firm account, so every script here simulates its own trades, reads chart prices or works from numbers you type. Of the free ones, Prop Firm Rules Overlay by Puravida Edge checks the most rules (daily loss, a static or end-of-day trailing floor and a consistency limit), and Trailing Drawdown Line Futures PropFirms is the one that trails intraday, on bar closes or end of day, with a lock. The most boosted, Ultimate Prop Firm [Artillery] with 1,208 boosts, is a trading strategy that watches its own trades.

Most lists name prop firm indicators.

This one reads them.

What we checked

We searched TradingView's scripts on 26 October 2026 for twelve terms (prop firm, prop firm risk, drawdown tracker, daily drawdown, trailing drawdown, daily loss limit, FTMO, funded account and others) and read 15 open-source scripts: the 14 of the 25 open-source results with prop firm, FTMO or drawdown in the title that we judged to be about watching or sizing for a prop firm's rules, and one risk manager, PhinkTrade's, for comparison. Plus the three most-boosted general risk managers. That's an editorial pick. The other eleven titled results are four versions of an ORB execution model, a liquidity sweep system, a gold futures strategy, a US30 system, a 22-day-high drawdown plot, two drawdown trackers and an anti-martingale sizer; at least two of them touch a prop rule (the gold strategy stops at a daily loss you type, and the sizer sizes against a $6,500 trailing drawdown), and we didn't read them in full. Four questions:

  • Where the numbers come from: the script's own simulated trades, numbers you type, or chart prices.
  • Daily loss: is it measured from the day's starting balance, as firms measure it?
  • Max drawdown: static, trailing on closes (end of day) or trailing intraday, and does the floor lock?
  • What it gives you: presets, a status, alerts.

The floor rules we checked against are the ones in our EOD vs intraday drawdown simulator, explained in EOD vs intraday trailing drawdown.

The three most-boosted general risk managers, Position Size Calculator - Risk Manager [LunqFX] (847), Equity Trade Risk Manager (752) and Volatility-Dynamic Risk Manager MNQ [HERMAN] (485), size a position from a typed balance or risk amount. None of the three models a prop firm rule.

The scripts, one by one

Ultimate Prop Firm [Artillery], 1,208 boosts. The most boosted script for these searches is a trading strategy, not a monitor. Its balance is its own simulated equity, its daily cap (3.5% of the day's starting equity) only stops it opening new trades, and it decides on closed bars. Useful if you want its strategy; it doesn't watch your account.

FTMO Rules Monitor, 385 boosts. A strategy that trades an external signal you plug in and checks its own results against FTMO-style numbers: the presets carry the 2-Step's 5% daily loss, 10% maximum loss and 10% target, for 10K to 200K. Two of its checks don't match their labels. The "daily loss" is the worst single-bar change in closed profit, not the day's loss. And the 10% maximum loss trails peak equity with no lock, while FTMO's 2-Step maximum loss is static, 10% of initial capital (FTMO's rules, read 8 October 2026).

Prop Firm Business Simulator, 164 boosts. A different job: it runs its own strategy through FTMO and The5ers phases, with fees and payouts, to show what buying challenges costs as a business. Its floors are static per phase; it doesn't watch your account either.

Pass most prop firm challenges with this pine script, 74 boosts. A long-only strategy with trend filters on SPY, QQQ and Bitcoin. Its only drawdown limit is 4% from the peak of the current trade, which starts over with every trade. It models no daily loss limit, no account drawdown and no profit target, so the title is a hope, not a rule check.

Prop Firm Session Guard, 50 boosts. It computes "daily P&L" as the symbol's percentage move from the daily open, and counts it against your limit up or down, so a rally uses up the daily budget too. Its own comment says it isn't account P&L.

Trailing Drawdown Line Futures PropFirms, 19 boosts. The one script that models how a futures trailing floor moves: you pick intraday (every new high), bar close or end of day, and it locks at a price you set or at your starting balance plus an offset ($100 by default). You type the firm's trailing distance and your buffer at entry, and it draws the floor as a price line for that one position. No daily loss limit.

Prop Firm Account Rotation [Zupe], 18 boosts. The biggest preset list: 72 plans across 9 futures firms (Alpha, Apex, Bulenox, FundedNext, Lucid, MyFundedFutures, Take Profit Trader, Topstep, Tradeify), for up to 10 accounts. Its floors are static or trail from a peak you type, with no lock and no intraday or end-of-day choice, and the daily limits it loads are never checked: the lines that would use them are commented out.

Prop Firm Risk Guard and Prop Firm Shield, 8 boosts each. Both work from typed balances: Risk Guard checks a daily limit against today's typed P&L and a static or trailing floor from a typed peak, with no lock; Shield's free tier is static only, and its header sends trailing drawdown, presets and a consistency tracker to paid tiers at $19 and $39 a month.

Prop Firm Rules Overlay by Puravida Edge, 4 boosts. Published on 24 October 2026, two days before this read, and the most complete rulebook among the free scripts. You type your starting balance, last end-of-day balance, highest end-of-day balance, today's realised P&L, total profit and best day. It works out the daily loss left, a static or end-of-day trailing floor that locks at the starting balance, and whether your best day breaks a consistency limit, then draws the prices where an open position would hit each limit. It has no intraday trailing, and its lock sits at the starting balance itself, where some firms lock above it.

What no TradingView indicator can do

A Pine script runs on chart data. It can't see your balance, your closed trades or your open P&L at the firm, so every number in these scripts is simulated, typed or read off the chart's prices. Two consequences:

  • A typed number goes stale the moment you trade. Update the balance and P&L you entered, or the script's floors and buffers describe an account that no longer exists.
  • A trailing floor needs your account's history. Only the highest balance your firm recorded moves its floor; a script can only trail the numbers it's given.

Your firm's dashboard is the source of truth. An indicator is a second reading of the numbers you give it, useful because it sits on the chart where you decide.

Where ours fits

The Prop Firm Challenge Toolkit is a Pine v6 indicator, $29 once, with its source. You type your initial balance, current balance and floating P/L, or pick one of 9 firm presets (FTMO, FundedNext, Topstep and The5ers plans) or a custom rule set. It shows the daily loss, drawdown and target buffers in dollars, models the floor as static, end-of-day trailing or intraday trailing, and gives one verdict, ON TRACK, AT RISK or FAILED, with a position sizer for the next trade.

Its limits, from its own page: it works from the balances you type; its trailing floors follow the balance you type, not your account's history, so after a pullback from a higher close it shows more room than your firm does; in v1.4.0 it doesn't count trading days, its consistency row reads 0%, and its news list covers June 2026 only.

If you'd rather keep these floors in a spreadsheet, the free prop firm challenge tracker works them out in Excel or Google Sheets from your daily balances.

Check any prop firm indicator in two minutes

  1. Read the first lines. strategy( means it trades its own signals; indicator( means it draws from chart data and your inputs.
  2. Find where the balance comes from. strategy.equity is simulated; an input.float is a number you type.
  3. Find the daily reset. The day's loss should be measured from the day's starting balance (or equity, if your firm says so), and reset at your firm's time, not at a bar's.
  4. Find the floor. Static, trailing on closes, trailing intraday: it should be the one your firm's rulebook names, with the lock where your firm puts it.
  5. Type a bad day. Enter a loss bigger than your daily limit and see whether it says so.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best prop firm indicator on TradingView?

Free, in our read: Prop Firm Rules Overlay by Puravida Edge for the most rules (daily loss, a static or end-of-day trailing floor that locks at the starting balance, and a consistency check), and Trailing Drawdown Line Futures PropFirms by PropfirmVerifier for a futures trailing floor, intraday, bar close or end of day, with a lock. Both are small (4 and 19 boosts on 26 October 2026), and Puravida Edge's was published on 24 October 2026. Paid: our Prop Firm Challenge Toolkit, $29 once, with 9 firm presets, three floor types and a verdict.

Can a TradingView indicator read my prop firm account?

No. A Pine script sees chart data, not your broker account. Every script in this read simulates its own trades (the strategies), reads chart prices, or works from numbers you type, ours included. Your firm's dashboard is the source of truth; an indicator is a second reading of the numbers you give it.

Is there a free trailing drawdown indicator for TradingView?

Yes. Trailing Drawdown Line Futures PropFirms (PropfirmVerifier, 19 boosts) trails intraday, on bar closes or once per day, and locks at a price you set or at the starting balance plus an offset. It draws the floor as a price line for one open futures position, from the buffer you type at entry, and has no daily loss limit.

Does the FTMO Rules Monitor follow FTMO's rules?

Not exactly. Its presets carry the 2-Step's 5% daily loss, 10% maximum loss and 10% target, but it trails the 10% from peak equity with no lock, while FTMO's 2-Step maximum loss is static (FTMO's pages, read 8 October 2026). Its daily loss is the worst single-bar change in closed profit, not the day's loss. And it watches its own simulated trades, not your account.

Will a 'pass prop firm challenges' script pass my challenge?

The one in TradingView's search, 'Pass most prop firm challenges with this pine script' (74 boosts), is a long-only strategy. Its only drawdown limit is 4% from the peak of the current trade, which resets with every trade; it models no daily loss limit, no account drawdown and no profit target.

Is there a prop firm indicator for MT5 or NinjaTrader?

Not among these: Pine Script runs only on TradingView. An MT5 indicator can read the account's balance and equity itself, which no TradingView script can, but we haven't shipped one, and we don't make NinjaTrader tools.

What can't the Prop Firm Challenge Toolkit do?

It can't read your account: it works from the balances you type. Its trailing floors follow the balance you type, not your account's history, so after a pullback from a higher close it shows more room than your firm does. In v1.4.0 it doesn't count trading days, its consistency row reads 0%, and its news list covers June 2026 only.
