  • Payout 1 of 6: met. 5 payouts left after this one. Cap: $1,500.
  • 5 days of $250+: not met. 4 qualifying days: 1 more day of $250 or more.
  • Largest day under 50%: not met. $1,100 is 51.16% of $2,150: over $50 more profit, on days under $1,100.
  • $52,600 balance: not met. $50 above the $52,100 safety net; a $500 request needs $450 more.

On Tradovate, Apex also checks the real-time balance and that no position is open when you submit. For payouts after the first, Payout Method Information also asks for 8 trading days since the last request, 5 of them $50 or more; this check doesn't count those.

Starts on our rules guide's sample Friday (50K EOD, invented trades). The rules are Apex's, read on 2026-10-22; where its pages disagree, the check blocks at exactly 50% and counts the payout pages' 5 qualifying days, not Payout Method Information's 8 trading days. It reads what you enter, not your Apex dashboard, which is the source of truth.

Worked cycle on a 50K EOD PA: $1,100 best day on $2,150 profit, then Monday's +$450

The calculator opens on a 50K EOD Performance Account before its first payout: a $52,150 balance ($2,150 of profit), a $1,100 largest day, and 4 qualifying days of $250+. Three gates hold the request back (3 blockers): it needs 1 more qualifying day, the $1,100 best day is 51.16% of $2,150 so it needs over $50 more profit on smaller days, and a $500 minimum request needs a $52,600 balance ($450 away).

Add a +$450 day on Monday (5 qualifying days, $2,600 profit, $52,600 balance) and the largest day drops to 42.31% of profit. Every rule passes, and the maximum request today is $500 — everything sitting above the $52,100 safety net. Reaching payout 1's full $1,500 cap on a 50K PA requires a $53,600 balance.

How the calculator reads your payout cycle

Largest day ÷ cycle profit under 50%, 5 qualifying days, and balance above the safety net.

The 50% rule, the permanent safety net, and the 6-payout limit

50% consistency on PAs only. Apex evaluations have no consistency rule. On a Performance Account, your largest single profitable day since the last approved payout must be below 50% of the net profit earned in that cycle, losing days included. Being at or above 50% does not breach the account; the payout request option stays unavailable until additional profit on smaller days brings the share below 50%.

Safety net for the life of the PA. The safety net is your drawdown limit plus $100 over the starting balance ($26,100, $52,100, $103,100, or $154,100). Because the minimum payout request is $500 and only profit above the safety net is eligible, you need at least $26,600, $52,600, $103,600, or $154,600 to request $500. The safety net stays in place across all six payouts.

Six payouts per PA. Apex pays 100% of each approved request up to that payout number's cap and closes the Performance Account after the sixth approved payout, unless Apex moves you to its Live program first, which deactivates open Performance Accounts.

Where Apex's pages disagree

Exactly 50.00%, and 5 qualifying days vs 8 trading days.

Two details to plan around
  • Below 50% vs at 50%. Apex's payout pages fail "50% or more" and the consistency FAQ states the share "must be below 50%", while an example table on the same FAQ marks 50% as met. The calculator blocks at exactly 50.00% and flags the boundary so you can add a dollar more on a smaller day.
  • 5 qualifying days vs 8 trading days. Both EOD and Intraday payout pages require 5 qualifying days at your size's daily profit minimum, whereas Payout Method Information repeats the Legacy rule of 8 trading days since the last request, including 5 days of $50+. Check the eligibility criteria on your Apex dashboard's Account Details page before submitting.

Full payout tables, inactivity rules, and trailing threshold stops are in Apex payout rules and Apex Trader Funding rules.

While you trade toward the safety net

This check audits payout eligibility and consistency only. While you trade for the qualifying days or the extra profit above the safety net, the trailing drawdown threshold and daily loss limit are what can close or flatten the account. We sell the Prop Firm Challenge Toolkit, a TradingView indicator that turns rule numbers and the balance you enter into dollar buffers on your chart. Enter your Apex PA parameters as Custom rules; your Apex dashboard remains the source of truth.

Method and privacy

Method: Consistency share = largest profitable day ÷ net profit since the last approved payout (strict < 50% per Apex's FAQ). Max request today = min(payout cap, balance − safety net) when balance ≥ safety net + $500, qualifying days ≥ 5, and payout number ≤ 6. Sourced from apextraderfunding.com help center on 2026-10-22.

Common questions

How does Apex Trader Funding's 50% consistency rule work?

On a Performance Account (PA), your single largest profitable trading day since the last approved payout must be below 50% of the net profit earned in that cycle, losing days included. Evaluations have no consistency rule.

Apex payout rules, account by account

What is the Apex safety net and does it disappear after payout 1?

The safety net equals your account's drawdown limit plus $100 over the starting balance: $26,100 on 25K, $52,100 on 50K, $103,100 on 100K, and $154,100 on 150K. Only balance above the safety net can be requested, and the safety net stays in place for the lifetime of the PA.

What minimum balance do I need to request a $500 Apex payout?

You need the safety net plus the $500 minimum withdrawal: $26,600 on a 25K PA, $52,600 on a 50K PA, $103,600 on a 100K PA, and $154,600 on a 150K PA.

What counts as a qualifying day for an Apex payout?

You need 5 qualifying days (not necessarily consecutive) where net daily profit reaches at least $100 / $250 / $300 / $350 on EOD PAs (25K / 50K / 100K / 150K) or $100 / $200 / $250 / $300 on Intraday PAs.
