The best day that keeps the Combine target
55% of the profit target. Topstep's table says to stay below it; a bigger best day raises the target.
| Trading Combine | Profit target | 55% of the target |
|---|---|---|
| 50K | $3,000 | $1,650 |
| 100K | $6,000 | $3,300 |
| 150K | $9,000 | $4,950 |
Topstep's own example: $1,800, then a loss to $1,000
The calculator opens on Topstep's example: a $1,800 best day on a 50K Combine, then a losing day that leaves $1,000 of profit. "Losses don't reset your best day", so the target becomes $1,800 ÷ 0.55 = $3,272.73 (Topstep rounds it to $3,273): $2,272.73 more, on later days of no more than $1,800, at least 2 more days.
Switch to XFA Consistency and the same days need $1,800 ÷ 0.4 = $4,500 of net profit, $3,500 more. Topstep's payout page gives the same arithmetic: a $2,000 best trading day needs at least $5,000 of total net profit.
How the calculator reads your days
Best day ÷ total profit against Topstep's line, in whole cents.
The Combine, the XFA's two paths and Live
Trading Combine. You need the profit target and a best day at or below 55% of your total profit. Over the line, the profit needed becomes your best day ÷ 0.55. Topstep calls 55% "a hard line" that "is not rounded", so the check compares in cents; a share exactly on 55% passes on the consistency page's "at or below", and the check warns you that the Combine page says to stay below it.
Express Funded Account, Consistency path. Your largest day must be 40% or below of your net profit for the payout window, over at least 3 trading days with a trade each. The window starts over after each payout request. Enter the days since your last payout.
Standard path and Live. No consistency rule: a payout needs 5 winning days of $150 or more net P&L. The check counts them for you, and on the Standard path asks whether this is your first payout, which is exempt from its net-profit rule. On Live, Topstep opens daily payouts once you have 30 such days in the Live account.
What Topstep's pages leave open
Exactly 55%, and when a best day locks.
Two details to plan around
- Exactly on 55%. The consistency page says "at or below 55%", but its own best-day table says "Less than $1,650" on 50K, and the Combine parameters page says to keep your best day "below 55%". The check passes a best day exactly on the line and flags it when you land there.
- The same session. Profit made in the session that set your best day adds to that day. Topstep says the rest has to come "on a separate trading day"; a Combine best day locks at 3:10 PM CT.
The rules in depth, with what going over costs and how each payout path works, are in Topstep consistency rule and Topstep XFA rules.
While you trade for the extra profit
This check reads the consistency line only. While you trade for the profit it asks for, the Maximum Loss Limit is what can close the account. We sell the Prop Firm Challenge Toolkit, a TradingView indicator that turns rule numbers you enter into dollar buffers on your chart: how far you are from your loss limits, and from the profit target. Enter Topstep's numbers as its Custom rules. It doesn't check the consistency rule, which is what this page is for, and it doesn't read your Topstep dashboard, which stays the source of truth.
