Lucid Trading Live Account Rules: What Happens After Payout 5

Payout 5 ends the sim payouts on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect and puts you in Lucid's live review pool. If the risk team moves you, the live account starts at $0, its end-of-day drawdown locks at $100, and a Live Bonus pays after a profit target and 20 trading days, again and again. Read from Lucid's pages on 2026-10-08, two days after it rewrote its live program.

PL · 10 min read
Explainer cover titled Lucid live: after Payout 5. A line chart of a sample 50K Lucid live account over 20 trading days: the balance rises from a $0 start; a red Max Loss Limit steps up from −$2,000 and locks at $100 on day 8, once profit passes the dashed +$2,000 lock line; the balance crosses the dashed +$4,000 bonus target on day 15, and a gold dot on the dashed 20-trading-days line marks the $2,000 Live Bonus.
Payout 5 is the last sim payout on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. It doesn't move you live by itself: it puts you in Lucid's live review pool, and the risk team decides. If you move, each funded account with at least one payout becomes one live account. It starts at a $0 balance with an end-of-day drawdown of $1,000 to $4,500 by size, and its Max Loss Limit locks at $100 once live profit equals that drawdown. Under the live rules Lucid posted on 2026-10-06, the Live Bonus repeats: reach a profit target of twice the drawdown and 20 trading days, and Lucid pays a bonus equal to the drawdown, split 90/10.

The evaluation and funded rules for every plan are in our Lucid Trading rules hub. This page starts where they stop.

$2,000 Live Bonus, paid out, not added to the balance. You keep $1,800 after the 90/10 split.

A simulated account: the daily P&L is invented; the rules are Lucid's, from its New Live Structure and Live Scaling Plan pages, checked 2026-10-08. The size cap shown is the CME column.

Rule: live profit equal to the $2,000 starting drawdown locks the Max Loss Limit at $100; +$4,000 above the start and 20 trading days pay a $2,000 Live Bonus, split 90/10. Lucid calls the bonus repeatable and doesn't publish what resets after one.

Read as text
  1. Payout 5 is the last sim payout on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. It puts you in Lucid's live review pool, and the risk team decides who moves live.
  2. Day 0: the 50K live account starts at $0. The Max Loss Limit sits $2,000 below, at −$2,000; there is no daily loss limit; the size cap on CME products is 2 minis or 20 micros.
  3. Days 1 to 7: the Max Loss Limit follows the highest close, $2,000 under it.
  4. Day 8: live profit passes $2,000, the starting drawdown. The Max Loss Limit locks at $100 and stops moving. The size cap rises to 3 minis or 30 micros.
  5. Day 9: a losing day. The Max Loss Limit stays at $100; the size cap drops back to 2 minis or 20 micros.
  6. Day 15: live profit passes the +$4,000 bonus target, with 15 of the 20 trading days done. The size cap is 4 minis or 40 micros.
  7. Day 20: both objectives are met, +$4,000 of live profit and 20 trading days. Lucid pays a $2,000 Live Bonus outside the balance; after the 90/10 split you keep $1,800.

The bonus needs both lines. On day 15 the profit is there and the days aren't. And by the time profit reaches the target, the floor has long since locked: on every size, the target is twice the starting drawdown.

Who moves live, and when

You enter the live review pool when one or more of these is true:

  • You received the final payout, Payout 5, on a LucidFlex, LucidPro or LucidDirect account.
  • You've been paid "a significant amount of capital lifetime".
  • You earned the Maximum Daily Profit on a LucidDaily account: $6,000 / $8,000 / $10,000 / $12,000 for 25K / 50K / 100K / 150K.
  • You had "exceptional performance in sim funded".
  • You've been moved live before.

"Payout 5 represents the maximum payout level, not a guaranteed minimum for live eligibility." And: "All live transitions occur at the discretion of the Lucid risk team."

When you move:

  • One live account per funded account that has received at least one payout. All of them move at once.
  • Every sim account closes, evaluations included. A funded account left behind because it has 0 payouts gets its evaluation cost refunded only if at least 50% of its total drawdown remains. Lucid's advice: "If you are not comfortable with evaluations being closed, do not keep evaluations in reserve."
  • Your household stops trading sim. "If one household member is trading live, others may not trade simulated accounts." A household can hold up to 5 LucidLive accounts.
  • From LucidDaily, Lucid moves traders "every evening after the final session report comes in at 6 PM est", flattens open positions, and uses your prior day's closing balance.

$100,000$0$3,0006 minis or 60 micros
$150,000$0$4,50010 minis or 100 micros
  • Daily payouts, no daily loss limit, no consistency rule. Consistency rules "no longer apply regardless of your account type (LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDirect, LucidDaily)".
  • The Max Loss Limit is end of day. It follows your highest closing balance, the starting drawdown below it. Lucid's own example: a 50K "starts with $0 balance and $2,000 EOD drawdown", so the floor starts at −$2,000.
  • It locks at $100. "Once a trader generates live profits equal to their starting live drawdown, the Max Loss Limit locks at $100 and no longer moves."
  • An early payout locks it too. "If a trader requests a live payout before generating profits over the live drawdown, the Max Loss Limit locks to $100." Your room is then whatever balance is left above $100.
  • Blow it and you wait. After a blown live account, the standard cooldown before you can buy a new evaluation is 2 weeks; traders who repeatedly blow live accounts "due to reckless or 'yolo' behavior" may get longer ones.
  • Sim profit, from LucidDaily: the buffer you built "is used to fund the starting live drawdown. This may not be withdrawn." Profit above the buffer can be paid out once your KYC with the broker partner is done and the sub accounts are approved, capped at $15,000 "regardless of account size or how many you have". For LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect, the live page doesn't say what happens to sim profit left in the account.

The Live Bonus: a target and 20 trading days

Funded accountLive profit targetTrading daysLive BonusYou keep after 90/10
$25,000$2,00020$1,000$900
$50,000$4,00020$2,000$1,800
$100,000$6,00020$3,000$2,700
$150,000$9,00020$4,500$4,050

You need both on the same live account:

  1. Live profit above the starting balance, equal to the target. "The profit target calculation is not negatively impacted by taking payouts."
  2. 20 trading days. A trading day is "1+ trade taken, generating +$1/-$1 P&L net of fees at the end of the trading session".

The bonus "is paid out rather than added to account balance", split 90/10. In Lucid's example, five 50K accounts each earn the $2,000 bonus, and the trader receives "a $9,000 bonus payout in total". It repeats: it "may be earned on all accounts moved live, after completion of 20 trading days", and the page's summary calls it a "repeatable monthly Live Bonus up to $4,500". Lucid warns that "exploitation of this bonus system, via 'contract flipping' or similar, may lead to further review."

What resets after a bonus is not published: whether the next target counts from $0, from your balance on bonus day, or from somewhere else.

The cashout

"A cashout option has been introduced for traders who do not yet feel comfortable trading live capital. This cashout option is equal to 50% of a traders live starting balance." This cashout is subject to a 90/10 split. The same page starts every live account at $0, and 50% of $0 is $0. Lucid doesn't explain the gap, so what the cashout pays on a standard live account is not published. Ask Lucid in writing before you count on it.

LucidMaxx offers a "full cashout", split 90/10, with no amount printed. Requesting it, or blowing a live account, starts the standard cooldown: 2 weeks before you can buy a new evaluation.

Choose cashout within 24 hours of receiving the move-to-live email. Both the standard live and LucidMaxx pages say that, without that choice, your accounts automatically move Live. This is the deadline after Lucid sends the transition email; it doesn't make Payout 5 itself a guaranteed live transition.

Sources, checked 2026-10-08: New Live Structure (updated 2026-10-06), New LucidMaxx Program (updated 2026-10-06).

Cashout wording, split and decision deadline rechecked 2026-10-15: New Live Structure displayed "Updated today"; New LucidMaxx Program displayed "Updated this week". The cooldown statement retains its 2026-10-08 check.

The live scaling plan

Your size cap moves with live profit "at the end of each trading day", up and down. It also depends on the exchange. Cells read minis / micros: 2 / 20 means 2 minis or 20 micros.

The max live size in the first table is the top row here: a 50K live account starts at 2 minis on CME, not 4. Lucid's systems track attempts to get around the plan, and for repeated ones it "may review your account".

Live trading hours

  • "Swing trading is not allowed in the new LucidLive accounts."
  • Be flat by 4:45 PM EST on Tradovate Live or 4:15 PM EST on Rithmic Live. An auto-liquidate option can close positions before those times; it's set up "during the LucidLive onboarding process".
  • Lucid's FAQ says the opposite: "LucidLive accounts may hold positions overnight (subject to margin/risk settings)." We go by the help center, the stricter rule, until Lucid fixes one of the two.
  • Your feed's cutoff on your own clock, both ways Lucid's "EST" can be read, is in Lucid trading hours and news rules.

Payouts on a live account

  • Daily payouts on every live account.
  • The split on ordinary live payouts is not published. The live page specifies 90/10 for the bonus and cashout; that doesn't establish the ordinary payout split. Lucid's FAQ says "LucidLive terms are handled within the live onboarding/agreement."
  • No live payout minimum or maximum is published.
  • Hedging live accounts is a permanent ban. It's "strictly prohibited by both Lucid and the CME. This includes any copytrader issues that may arise."

Sources, checked 2026-10-08: New Live Structure (updated 2026-10-06), Lucid General FAQ.

Ordinary payout split rechecked 2026-10-15: the profit-split answer in Lucid's General FAQ still refers LucidLive traders to their onboarding agreement. The other payout statements above retain their 2026-10-08 check.

LucidMaxx live is different

LucidMaxx is invite-only, and its new program (page updated 2026-10-06) puts two steps, an evaluation and a pre-live stage, before live (the steps are in the hub). Its live account:

Where do Lucid's own pages disagree?

  1. Overnight. The help center: no swing trading, flat by 4:45 PM or 4:15 PM EST. The FAQ: "may hold positions overnight".
  2. The cashout. It's 50% of a live starting balance that the same page sets at $0.
  3. Automatic or reviewed? Lucid's LucidFlex Payouts (updated 2026-07-28) says that after 5 payouts traders "will be moved live", and the LucidDaily Payouts page says hitting the Maximum Daily Profit means you're "automatically moved live". The New Live Structure and LucidDaily Live pages put both in the review pool, at the risk team's discretion.
  4. LucidDaily and the bonus. The LucidDaily Live page (updated 2026-07-27) says "There is no live bonus" for traders moved live from LucidDaily. The New Live Structure page (updated 2026-10-06) names LucidDaily among its account types and says the bonus "may be earned on all accounts moved live", without saying whether that now includes LucidDaily.
  5. Monthly or 20 days? The New Live Structure summary says "monthly"; its rules say 20 trading days.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after Payout 5 at Lucid Trading?

Payout 5 is the last sim payout on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. It puts you in Lucid's live review pool, and the risk team decides whether you move live: Lucid calls Payout 5 a maximum, not a guaranteed minimum. If you move, each funded account with at least one payout becomes one live account, and every sim account closes.

How does the Lucid Live Bonus work?

Under the rules Lucid posted on 2026-10-06, it can be earned again and again. On each live account you need live profit above the starting balance equal to the target, $2,000, $4,000, $6,000 or $9,000 for 25K, 50K, 100K or 150K, and 20 trading days with at least one trade and +$1/-$1 net P&L. The bonus, $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500, is paid out rather than added to the balance, split 90/10. Taking payouts doesn't count against the target.

What is the drawdown on a Lucid live account?

End of day. A live account starts at a $0 balance with a starting drawdown of $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500 for 25K, 50K, 100K or 150K. The Max Loss Limit follows your highest closing balance and locks at $100 once live profit equals the starting drawdown, or straight away if you request a payout first. There's no daily loss limit. LucidMaxx live accounts are static instead, with a $100 Max Loss Limit.

Can you hold Lucid live positions overnight?

Lucid's help center says no: swing trading isn't allowed in LucidLive accounts, and you may hold positions until 4:45 PM EST on Tradovate Live or 4:15 PM EST on Rithmic Live. Its general FAQ says LucidLive accounts may hold positions overnight, subject to margin and risk settings. Until Lucid fixes one of the two, plan to be flat by your platform's cutoff.

What is the profit split on a Lucid live account?

Lucid doesn't publish one for ordinary live payouts: its FAQ says LucidLive terms are handled within the live onboarding agreement. The Live Bonus is split 90/10, and LucidMaxx live accounts pay 90/10 from the first payout. Live accounts get daily payouts, with no consistency rule and no daily loss limit; no live payout minimum or maximum is published.
