Take Profit Trader sells one evaluation, the Test, at $150 to $360 a month for 25K to 150K. You pass with the profit target, a best day below 50% of net profit and 3 trading days. The drawdown, $1,500 to $4,500, trails your end-of-day balance in the Test and your intraday peak in PRO, then stops at the starting balance. There's no daily loss limit. PRO pays 80/20 from day one, on the balance above a buffer zone.
The three stages at a glance
| Stage | What it is | Drawdown | Consistency rule | Daily loss limit | Minimum days | Split |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Test | Monthly subscription, simulated | End of day; trails, then stops at the start | Best day below 50% of net profit | None | 3 trading days | No withdrawals |
| PRO | Simulated funded account; $130 activation, once | Intraday, open profit included; stops at the start | None | None | None; withdraw from day one above the buffer zone | 80/20 |
| PRO+ | Live account, by invitation | End of day, from a $0 balance; stops at $0 | None | None (PRO+ Development: soft) | None, and no buffer | 90/10 |
Take Profit Trader's own comparison table lists "Daily loss rule: None" for all three, a scaling plan for none, a news rule for PRO and PRO+, and commissions of $4.50 / $1.50 per round turn in the Test and PRO, broker rates in PRO+. You can run unlimited Tests and up to five funded accounts, PRO and PRO+ combined.

Take Profit Trader drawdown: where the floor stops
Take Profit Trader calls its floor the Minimum Account Balance: the account size minus the drawdown, rising with your high and never above your starting balance. Equity at the floor at any moment ends the account: "If your account drops to the Minimum Account Balance at any time — through realized or unrealized losses — the account is immediately liquidated." What counts as your high is what changes between stages.
- Test, end of day: "the drawdown for test accounts is calculated only at the end of the trading day, not during open trades." The floor follows your highest close.
- PRO, intraday: "The Trailing Drawdown is calculated intraday using your peak balance, which includes realized gains and unrealized gains." An open profit you give back still lifts the floor. Take Profit Trader's 25K example: open profit reaches $1,000, the floor rises to $24,500 in real time, you close $500 up at $25,500, "but your minimum remains $24,500," $1,000 away.
- Both stop at the start: "The drawdown will never exceed your starting account balance." PRO's drawdown equals the Test's you passed.
Mon: +$400, close $53,900. The floor stays at $50,000.
Illustrative balances, not market data: the trades are invented. The rules are Take Profit Trader's, as quoted in the drawdown section and read 2026-10-17: a $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown on the 50K Test that stops at the $50,000 starting balance.
Rule: floor = the highest end-of-day balance − $2,000, never above the $50,000 start: it stops once a close reaches $52,000. Touching it at any moment, open losses included, liquidates the account.

- Start: $50,000. The floor starts $2,000 below, at $48,000. Equity at the floor at any moment, open losses included, liquidates the account; there's no daily loss limit.
- Mon: close $50,500. The floor trails up to $48,500.
- Tue: close $51,200. The floor trails up to $49,200.
- Wed: −$300. The floor stays at $49,200: it follows the highest close.
- Thu: close $51,700. The floor trails up to $49,700.
- Fri: close $53,500, past $52,000. The floor stops at $50,000 and stays.
- Mon: +$400, close $53,900. The floor stays at $50,000.
Intraday trail: the +$900 peak lifts the Minimum Account Balance to $48,900. Breach: equity reaches the Minimum Account Balance, $48,900. TPT liquidates the account at once, open losses included.
Session starts and floors from the film's two sample weeks: invented trades, Take Profit Trader's rules as quoted on this page, read 2026-10-17. Test: the floor moves only at the close. PRO: it trails the day's peak as it happens, open profit included. Neither has a daily loss limit. Slippage past the floor isn't modelled.
It opens on the PRO sample's Monday: a +$900 run-up lifts the floor to $48,900, so a −$1,800 worst moment, at $48,200, breaches. Switch to Test and the same day survives with $200 to spare, because the Test's floor waits for the close.
| Account | Drawdown | Floor at the start | Stops at | Once the high reaches |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $1,500 | $23,500 | $25,000 | $26,500 |
| 50K | $2,000 | $48,000 | $50,000 | $52,000 |
| 75K | $2,500 | $72,500 | $75,000 | $77,500 |
| 100K | $3,000 | $97,000 | $100,000 | $103,000 |
| 150K | $4,500 | $145,500 | $150,000 | $154,500 |
Take Profit Trader prints the drawdowns, the 25K example and the PRO buffer zones (the last column); the other rows apply its rule. "The high" is your highest end-of-day balance in the Test and your peak balance, open profit included, in PRO. The dashboard shows the floor as the Minimum Account Balance; in real time, R|Trader Pro shows it as the "Auto Liquidate Threshold Value" and Tradovate as "Drawdow Auto Liq Level" (sic).
The sample Test week behind the films: invented trades on a 50K Test.
| Day | Day P&L | Close | Net profit | Best day | Best day ÷ net profit | Goal | Floor after the close |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | +$500 | $50,500 | $500 | $500 | 100.00% | $3,000 | $48,500 |
| Tue | +$700 | $51,200 | $1,200 | $700 | 58.33% | $3,000 | $49,200 |
| Wed | −$300 | $50,900 | $900 | $700 | 77.78% | $3,000 | $49,200 |
| Thu | +$800 | $51,700 | $1,700 | $800 | 47.06% | $3,000 | $49,700 |
| Fri | +$1,800 | $53,500 | $3,500 | $1,800 | 51.43% | more than $3,600 | $50,000 (stopped) |
| Mon | +$400 | $53,900 | $3,900 | $1,800 | 46.15% | more than $3,600 | $50,000 (stopped) |
The sample PRO week: invented trades on a 50K PRO account, each day with its best moment above the day's start.
| Day | Best moment, open profit included | Day P&L | Close | Day's peak | Floor after the day | Above the $52,000 buffer zone |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | +$900 | +$400 | $50,400 | $50,900 | $48,900 | $0 |
| Tue | +$300 | −$500 | $49,900 | $50,700 | $48,900 | $0 |
| Wed | +$1,600 | +$1,200 | $51,100 | $51,500 | $49,500 | $0 |
| Thu | +$1,100 | +$800 | $51,900 | $52,200 | $50,000 (stopped) | $0 |
| Fri | +$900 | +$800 | $52,700 | $52,800 | $50,000 (stopped) | $700 |
On the PRO Monday an end-of-day trail would sit at $48,400; the intraday one sits at $48,900, $500 closer, for open profit that never reached the close. Tuesday's $50,700 peak sets no new high, so the floor holds.
Our calculator can't model either floor. The trailing drawdown calculator trails a percentage of the peak with no stop. Entered as 4%, after the Test's $51,200 Tuesday close it gives $49,152 against Take Profit Trader's $49,200: $48 more room than you have. After Friday's $53,500 it gives $51,360; the real floor has stopped at $50,000. By hand: the lower of (your high − $2,000) and $50,000 (static vs trailing).

The Test: targets, contracts and price
The Test is a monthly subscription with "no time limit to reach your profit target." It rebills on the same calendar day each month; breaking a rule doesn't cancel it, and passing does. There are no monthly fees in PRO, only the one-time $130 activation.
| Account | Per month | Profit target | EOD trailing drawdown | Maximum position | Daily loss limit on the card |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | $150 | $1,500 | $1,500 | 3 minis or 30 micros | $500, struck through: Removed |
| 50K | $170 | $3,000 | $2,000 | 6 minis or 60 micros | $1,100, struck through: Removed |
| 75K | $245 | $4,500 | $2,500 | 9 minis or 90 micros | $1,600, struck through: Removed |
| 100K | $330 | $6,000 | $3,000 | 12 minis or 120 micros | $2,200, struck through: Removed |
| 150K | $360 | $9,000 | $4,500 | 15 minis or 150 micros | $3,300, struck through: Removed |
The maximum position is "a static number of contracts that you can have open at once," with micros at 10 times the mini count, and it carries into PRO unchanged: no scaling plan. A failed Test can be reset for a fee without moving the renewal date; a Test that passes while a renewal is overdue "cannot move to PRO" until it's paid.

Take Profit Trader consistency rule
Only the Test has one, and it has two parts. You need "a minimum of 3 trading days," where a trading day is "any day in which you place at least one trade." And "your best trading day must be below 50% of your total net profits," measured as highest profit day ÷ net P/L. Go over 50% and "you have not failed the test account": the goal moves to "Updated Profit Goal > High Profit Day's Net P/L × 2," shown in your dashboard.
Take Profit Trader's own example, on 50K: days of +$2,000, +$600 and +$500 make $3,100, a best-day share it rounds to 65%, so the goal becomes more than $4,000. The 3-day minimum applies to Tests bought from August 17, 2026; older Tests and their resets keep 5 days.
- Target metmet
- Best < 50%met
- 3 of 3 daysmet
Mon: +$400, 46.15%. All three checks met.
Illustrative balances, not market data: the trades are invented. The rules are Take Profit Trader's, as quoted in the consistency section and read 2026-10-17: a $3,000 target on the 50K Test, a best day below 50% of net profit (goal: more than best day × 2), and at least 3 trading days.
Rule: goal = the larger of the $3,000 target and best day × 2 (to clear: more than that); best day ÷ net profit below 50%; 3 days with a trade. Our consistency calculator's arithmetic.
Read as text
- Mon: +$500, net profit $500, best day $500 = 100.00% of it, goal $3,000, 1 trading day.
- Tue: +$700, net profit $1,200, best day $700 = 58.33% of it, goal $3,000, 2 trading days.
- Wed: −$300, net profit $900, best day $700 = 77.78% of it, goal $3,000, 3 trading days. Losing days don't shrink the best day.
- Thu: +$800, net profit $1,700, best day $800 = 47.06% of it, goal $3,000, 4 trading days.
- Fri: +$1,800, net profit $3,500, best day $1,800 = 51.43% of it, goal more than $3,600, 5 trading days. A new best day: the goal becomes more than $1,800 × 2, so the $3,000 target isn't enough.
- Mon: +$400, net profit $3,900, best day $1,800 = 46.15% of it, goal more than $3,600, 6 trading days. All three checks met.
In the sample week, Thursday ends at 47.06%, under 50% but short of $3,000. Friday's $1,800 day takes profit past the target to $3,500 and becomes the best day, so the goal moves to more than $3,600. Friday in our consistency calculator (best day $1,800, total $3,500, threshold 50) reads 51.43%: $100 to reach $3,600, and Take Profit Trader wants more than that, on days under $1,800. Monday's $400 clears it at 46.15%.
Friday cleared the $3,000 target and still didn't pass: its own $1,800 day moved the goal past $3,600.Losing days count against you twice: Wednesday's −$300 cut net profit while the best day stayed $700. Why a best-day cap behaves like debt: our consistency rule guide.

Take Profit Trader payout rules
PRO pays from day one, on any day you're eligible, with no minimum profitable days, no consistency rule, no payout window and "No maximum withdrawal amount." The catch is the buffer zone: your starting balance plus the drawdown. Only the balance above it can leave while the account is open, and Take Profit Trader keeps 20% of what you move.
| Account | Buffer zone | The buffer, in profit |
|---|---|---|
| 25K | $26,500 | $1,500 |
| 50K | $52,000 | $2,000 |
| 75K | $77,500 | $2,500 |
| 100K | $103,000 | $3,000 |
| 150K | $154,500 | $4,500 |
- The split: "In the PRO account, the profit split is 80/20, where the trader keeps 80% of the profits." The 20% comes off when you move money to the wallet; the form shows "The amount you get."
- Two steps: first account to wallet, with "no open positions or working orders" at that moment, then wallet to bank. Tradovate PRO accounts move to the wallet automatically in "5-10 seconds"; Rithmic PRO and PRO+ withdrawals "remain manual for now." The Profit Team reviews each wallet payout, "up to 12 business hours," before it goes out through Plaid to US banks (usually real time, sometimes 1-2 business days), or PayPal or Wise elsewhere. The name on the receiving account must match yours.
- The balance you can use is the dashboard's, "updated daily between 8PM - 9PM EST." The Q&A's own example: profit made at 3PM reaches your wallet the same evening.
- Fees: wallet withdrawals over $250 are free; "$250 or less" costs $50. PayPal may charge its own.
- Denials: an automated account-to-wallet request can be refused for four reasons only: not enough in the account, open positions or orders, Tradovate maintenance, or a Tradovate API fault.
- Closing the account: "You can withdraw 50% of your Buffer Zone after your account is closed." Take Profit Trader doesn't say at which split.
In the sample PRO week, Thursday's $52,200 peak stops the floor at $50,000, but the day closes at $51,900, under the buffer zone: nothing to withdraw. Friday closes at $52,700, $700 over it. Moved to the wallet, that's $560 after the 20%, over $250, so no fee.
On this week the floor stopped a day before the first withdrawable dollar: the peak counts for the drawdown, the flat balance for the payout.A PRO account can be reset up to three times, from $449 to $1,499 by size, and you keep withdrawing "from day-one" after a reset. A PRO account whose subscription shows disabled "is completely closed and no longer able to be reset."

PRO+ and PRO+ Development
PRO+ is live: orders go to the exchange through Tradovate, and Take Profit Trader invites you "solely at the discretion of Take Profit Trader." "There isn't a single threshold that determines promotion." The account pays 90/10 with no buffer zone and an end-of-day drawdown.
- How it starts: at a $0 balance with an end-of-day floor equal to your PRO account's starting drawdown, −$2,000 from a 50K PRO, trailing up and stopping at $0.
- Your PRO profit: "$5,000 in profit from the PRO account will be frozen and must remain in the account while the PRO+ is active"; anything above it can be withdrawn at PRO's split. Lose the PRO+ account and a negative balance comes out of that $5,000.
- Costs and resets: broker commissions instead of $4.50 / $1.50, and no PRO+ reset; you return by passing a Test or resetting a PRO account.
Traders with "aggressive sizing" or "rapid drawdowns" can be placed in PRO+ Development instead, with smaller limits and the same daily payouts:
| Account | Contracts (mini / micro) | Daily loss limit, soft | End-of-day drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25K | 1 / 10 | $500 | $750 |
| 50K | 2 / 20 | $1,000 | $1,250 |
| 75K | 3 / 30 | $1,250 | $1,500 |
| 100K | 4 / 40 | $1,500 | $1,750 |
| 150K | 5 / 50 | $2,000 | $2,250 |
Take Profit Trader wants "roughly 60 days of consistent, disciplined risk management" before moving you back. A net loss of $10,000 of its capital across your Development accounts in any rolling 30 days pauses new purchases for 30 days.

Rules that apply to every account
- Hours: the trading day runs from 6 PM to 5 PM Eastern. "Positions cannot be carried from one trading day into the next," so nothing overnight or over the weekend, and "TPT will automatically close any open position at 4:55 PM Eastern." A market that closes earlier, or a holiday close you miss, liquidates the account (Rule 4, edited 2026-05-06).
- News: the Test has none. PRO and PRO+ accounts must have no positions and no open orders "one minute before, during and one minute after" FOMC statements (Wednesdays at 2:00 PM ET; Fed speakers and minutes are allowed), Non-Farm Payrolls (Fridays at 8:30 AM ET) and CPI (PRO Account Rules).
- Automation: "No Trading Bots or Algos," on every account; in PRO, "All trades must be manually executed by the trader." Trade copiers are allowed only between accounts you own and control: Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto Flowbot ("Compliance Edition only") and platform-native copiers (Universal Trading Policies, edited 2026-03-06; Trade Copier Policy, edited 2026-03-06; Independent Trade Execution Policy, edited 2026-04-07).
- Counter positions: no long and short across your accounts in the same or a related contract, such as ES and MES. Take Profit Trader's example, long 2 ES on one account and short 1 MES on another: "Both accounts will be automatically liquidated" (Rule 6, edited 2025-11-27).
- Products: "most futures products" on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX, from a list of 34 symbols that includes ES, NQ, CL, GC and their micros; picking the right contract month is on you (Approved Instruments, edited 2026-09-19).
- Staying active: PRO and PRO+ accounts must trade at least one day per calendar week (Sunday–Friday), with at least one round trip. Exit before a limit-up or limit-down move locks the market, or lose the account (PRO Account Rules, edited 2026-09-22; PRO+ Account Rules, edited 2026-09-22).
- Commissions: $4.50 per round trip per contract, $1.50 for micros, in the Test and PRO (Commissions on Test and PRO accounts, edited 2026-08-08).
- How you trade: the Sustainable Trading Policy (edited 2026-07-01) flags "Using maximum position size on the majority of trades" and sized bets at "fixed, predictable market moments like the open, key economic releases" as reasons for closer review, or for Take Profit Trader to "part ways."

Take Profit Trader's own example puts a 50K Test passed within its first 30 days, without a reset, at $102 in total. Refunds: "within 72 hours" for an account you haven't traded, minus a $75 fee (Terms of Service). Where do Take Profit Trader's own pages disagree?
- 3 days or 5? Rule 5 and the home page say 3 trading days. The 50AND3 FAQ limits that to Tests bought from August 17; older Tests and their resets keep 5. The NOFEE50 FAQ (edited 2026-08-26) still says "as little as 5 days."
- Exactly 50%. Rule 5 says the share "must be below 50%," which fails exactly 50%; its next line says only that "above 50%" doesn't meet the rule. The goal formula ("> High Profit Day's Net P/L × 2") sides with the first. Stay under 50%. Rule 5's own example also rounds 64.52% to 65%.
- What the buffer leaves you. The payout page says you need $52,000 "to start withdrawing at 80% of total profit." The promo FAQs say there are "no withdrawal restrictions on your profits above the buffer," and the payout page ends with 50% of the buffer zone payable after the account closes. Read together, the buffer stays in while the account is open; the films use that reading.
- Support hours. The home page says "Live Support 24 hours/Day"; Live Chat Hours (edited 2026-01-09) gives 4:00 pm EST Sunday to 4:30 pm EST Friday, email outside it.
- Forex and crypto. The site's footer says it doesn't support "forex, cryptocurrencies, or CFDs"; the permitted list includes CME currency futures such as 6E and Micro Bitcoin and Micro Ether futures. We read the footer as spot markets.
- The daily loss limit. The plan cards strike through a daily limit per size and mark it Removed; the comparison table says none on every stage; PRO+ Development has a soft one.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Take Profit Trader consistency rule?
It applies to the Test only: your best day must be below 50% of your total net profit, so once your best day is more than half the profit target, the goal becomes more than your best day × 2. On a 50K Test a $1,800 best day means more than $3,600. Breaking it doesn't fail the Test; you trade on to the new goal. PRO and PRO+ accounts have no consistency rule.
How do Take Profit Trader payouts work?
In PRO you can withdraw from day one and on any day after, with no minimum profitable days and no maximum, but only the balance above the buffer zone, $52,000 on a 50K account, as we read Take Profit Trader's pages. Take Profit Trader keeps 20%, so you get 80%. Money moves from the account to your wallet while you're flat, then from the wallet to your bank, PayPal or Wise; a wallet withdrawal of $250 or less costs $50.
What is the Take Profit Trader buffer zone?
The starting balance plus the account's drawdown: $26,500, $52,000, $77,500, $103,000 or $154,500 on the 25K to 150K PRO accounts. Withdrawals start above it, and, as we read Take Profit Trader's pages, it stays in the account while the account is open; Take Profit Trader says you can withdraw 50% of it after the account is closed. PRO+ accounts have no buffer.
Is Take Profit Trader's drawdown end of day or intraday?
It depends on the stage. In the Test the Minimum Account Balance trails your highest end-of-day balance; in PRO it trails your peak balance intraday, open profit included; in PRO+ it's end of day again, from a $0 balance. Each stops trailing at the starting balance, and touching it at any moment, open losses included, liquidates the account. The drawdown is $1,500 to $4,500 by account size.
Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?
Not on the Test, PRO or PRO+ accounts: the plan cards on 2026-10-17 show the old daily limits struck through and marked Removed. The exception is PRO+ Development, a live account with smaller limits, which has a soft daily loss limit of $500 to $2,000 that pauses you rather than failing you.
How many days does it take to pass the Take Profit Trader Test?
At least 3 trading days, counting any day with at least one trade, for Tests bought from August 17, 2026; older Tests and their resets keep the 5-day minimum. There's no time limit: the Test rebills monthly until you pass or cancel.
Can you trade news or hold overnight with Take Profit Trader?
News: the Test has no news rule, but PRO and PRO+ accounts must be flat, with no working orders, from one minute before to one minute after FOMC statements, Non-Farm Payrolls and CPI. Overnight: no. Positions can't be carried into the next trading day, Take Profit Trader closes what's left at 4:55 PM ET, and the next trading day opens at 6 PM ET.
Does Take Profit Trader allow bots or trade copiers?
No bots or algorithms on any account: every trade must be placed by hand. Trade copiers are allowed between accounts you own and control, from an approved list (Tradesyncer, TradeCopia, Affordable Indicators, Replikanto's Compliance Edition and platform-native copiers), and never to copy another trader.
