Exness groups, FXSVPS's readingsExness-MT5Real36: London, 1.67 ms

Try one

Exness-MT5Real36 answered fastest from

London · 1.67 ms

FXSVPS's round trip from its London node on its Exness guide, read inside MT4 and MT5 against a live account, taken as the median of a week; FXSVPS says it re-takes the figures monthly (read 29 October 2026). It is the quickest of FXSVPS's cities, not the broker's own address.

The group number carries no geography: FXSVPS measured MT5Real34 from Amsterdam, MT5Real35 from Frankfurt and MT5Real36 from London.

Confirm it from your own terminal

  1. With MT5 logged in, press Win + R, type resmon, open Network and find terminal64.exe: its Remote Address is the server's IP.
  2. Look the IP up (ipinfo.io or db-ip.com) for its city and data centre.
  3. On a VPS in that city, read the ping in MT5's status bar, bottom right, once connected.

The math: your server name → its published reading → the VPS city to test first

Read from FXSVPS's broker guides and latency table and from IC Markets' own page. None of it is our measurement, and brokers move servers: treat a reading as the city to test first.

How FXSVPS measured these, and what a reading isn't

Four of the guides say each figure was “read inside MT4 and MT5 against a live account, taken as the median of a week” and “not an ICMP ping”; the IC Markets guide says only “read inside the terminal against a live account”, and the Exness guide adds that the figures are re-taken monthly. The city is the FXSVPS location with the lowest round trip, which is not the same as the broker's address: Exness-Real23's row reads “Central Europe”. FXSVPS rents the VPS in those cities, and ProEA is an FXSVPS affiliate (see the note under the finder). Sources: Exness, IC Markets, XM, HFM and FBS.

Exness server location

7 places across 10 groups, and the group number tells you nothing about which.

Reading an Exness server name

The group number carries no geography: FXSVPS measured MT5Real34 from Amsterdam, MT5Real35 from Frankfurt and MT5Real36 from London. MT5Real19, 20 and 21 answered from Singapore and MT5Real25 from Beauharnois, in Canada. The trial groups don't follow the live ones: Exness-Trial10 answered from New York, and Exness-MT5Trial9 from London. Your group is in MT5's login window and next to the account in the Exness area; type it into the finder above.

IC Markets server location

New York, Equinix NY4, for MetaTrader: IC Markets says so itself.

IC Markets' page and FXSVPS's readings

“The IC Markets MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers are currently located in the NY4 data centre in New York”; its cTrader servers, the page says, are in the LD5 data centre in London. (IC Markets, Trading Servers). FXSVPS measured every live group on its guide fastest from New York, at 1.63 to 3.08 ms, and adds a rule for the labels beside a server: DC_NY is New York, DC_LD London, DC_Syd Sydney (where it has “not seen a live group”), DC_FRANK Frankfurt (mostly demo), DC_Vir Virginia (“Ashburn or New York”). Groups named Access or Demo are shared entry points that move. An Australian broker with its MetaTrader servers in New York is why a Sydney VPS is the wrong guess for most IC Markets accounts.

XM, HFM and FBS server locations

XM and FBS are mostly London; HFM splits by prefix. The exceptions show only in the full name.

The exceptions

XM: XMGlobal-Real 39 answered from London and XMGlobal-Real 33 from Singapore; XMGlobal-MT5 13 from Beauharnois. HFM: the prefix matters more than the number, with HFMarketsSA-Live2 from London and the HFMarketsGlobal groups from Mumbai, New York and Frankfurt. FBS: FBS-Real-5 and FBS-Real from London, FBS-Real-10 from New York.

71 brokers: FXSVPS's latency table

Where each broker answered fastest from FXSVPS's five test nodes, with the typical range. The table prints no date.

All 71 rows, and why to read them loosely

FXSVPS's own warning sits above its table: a broker runs many servers, and “they decide which one your account sits on — and it may not be the one anybody measured.” The table's date reads “Measured DATE NEEDED”, its header counts 103 brokers while 71 rows are listed, and it doesn't say which server of each broker it measured. Use it to pick a city to test, not to predict a number (FXSVPS, Latency Table).

How to find your broker's server location yourself

Resource Monitor gives the IP, an IP lookup gives the city, MT5's status bar gives the ping.

The three steps, and whose they are

The first two are FXSVPS's published steps (How To Find Forex Broker Server Location, 31 May 2026), the third its latency table's (Latency Table); we haven't run them against every broker. Many brokers block ping, so Resource Monitor's Network tab, which lists terminal64.exe's open connections with their Remote Address, is the reliable way to the IP. An IP lookup gives an approximate city and the data centre's network; FXSVPS names Equinix LD4 (London), NY4 and NY5 (New York) and TY3 (Tokyo) as where many brokers sit. If the terminal can't connect at all, read the Journal first: MT5 “No connection” decodes its messages.

Does the server's city matter for my EA?

For scalping and news trading, yes; for a strategy that holds for days, little.

What the VPS sellers themselves say

FXSVPS writes that scalping and news trading feel milliseconds and a swing strategy doesn't, and that paying for high-frequency hardware to run one “is money that buys nothing”. What matters to every EA is that the terminal stays on and connected. On MetaQuotes' own hosting, “the system will automatically select the server that is closest to your broker” ( MetaQuotes, Register a Server), one account per rented terminal; the MT5 VPS size calculator says whether it takes your setup, and MT5 VPS walks renting it.

Method and privacy

Method: Readings are FXSVPS's published round trips (its five broker guides, read inside the terminal against a live account, four of them as the median of a week; its latency table, which prints no measurement date) and IC Markets' own trading-servers page, all read on 29 October 2026. A reading names the FXSVPS city with the lowest round trip, not the broker's street address. We measured nothing ourselves.

Calculations run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded. Your last numbers stay in this browser so you can pick up where you left off; Forget them clears them. A link with your numbers carries them after the # sign, which browsers do not send to servers, and the page takes them out of the address before any analytics loads. Copy and download actions save your calculation locally. The site may record coarse tool actions under its privacy policy, without inputs, results, file contents or filenames.

Common questions

Where are Exness servers located?

It depends on the server group, and the number gives no clue. FXSVPS's Exness guide, read on 29 October 2026, measured Exness-MT5Real36 fastest from London (1.67 ms), MT5Real35 from Frankfurt, MT5Real34 from Amsterdam, MT5Real19, 20 and 21 from Singapore and MT5Real25 from Beauharnois, Canada. Read your server name in MT5's login window and type it into the finder.

Where are IC Markets servers located?

New York. IC Markets' own trading-servers page says its MetaTrader 4 and 5 servers are in the Equinix NY4 data centre and its cTrader servers in LD5, London. FXSVPS's IC Markets guide, read on 29 October 2026, measured all 16 live groups it lists fastest from New York, at 1.63 to 3.08 ms.

Where are XM servers located?

Mostly London, not all. Of the seven XM groups on FXSVPS's guide, read on 29 October 2026, five answered fastest from London; XMGlobal-Real 33 answered from Singapore and XMGlobal-MT5 13 from Beauharnois, Canada.

Where are Pepperstone servers located?

FXSVPS's latency table, read on 29 October 2026, puts Pepperstone fastest from its New York node, typically 1 to 3 ms. The table prints no measurement date and doesn't say which Pepperstone server it measured, so confirm yours from your own terminal.

Does FTMO allow a VPS?

Yes, with one exception. FTMO's FAQ says "The use of VPN/VPS is also generally allowed", and "When using VPN/VPS, clients should also avoid changing their geolocation to the United States when using MetaTrader, cTrader or TradingView" (page modified 24 August 2026, read 29 October 2026). So for an FTMO account, a VPS in a US city such as New York is the one to avoid; FXSVPS's latency table puts FTMO fastest from London.

How do I find my broker's server location myself?

With MT5 logged in, open Windows Resource Monitor (Win + R, resmon), go to Network and find terminal64.exe: its Remote Address is the trade server's IP. Look the IP up on ipinfo.io or db-ip.com for its city and data centre. Then read the ping in MT5's status bar from a VPS in that city. This is FXSVPS's published method; we haven't run it on every broker.

Does a demo account show where my live server is?

No. FXSVPS's guides say a demo account tells you nothing about where your live one sits: Exness-Trial10 answered from New York while the live groups near its number sit elsewhere, and HFMarketsGlobal-Demo answered from Mumbai, near none of HFM's measured live groups. Read the server name off the account you trade.

Limits and trading risk

These tools calculate from your inputs, supported historical records or explicitly labelled teaching examples. They do not verify a live account, predict future returns or confirm that a broker or prop-firm rule has been met. Missing costs, floating losses and changed market conditions can materially change outcomes. Trading can lose the capital committed to it; check the stated method and your account specifications.
