Apex 50K Max Contracts: How Many Can You Trade?

Apex Trader Funding 50K: EOD evaluation, 6 minis or 60 micros; Intraday evaluation, 6 minis or 60 micros; EOD Performance Account (PA), 2, 3 or 4 minis by profit over the start at the last close; Intraday Performance Account (PA), 2, 3 or 4 minis by profit over the start at the last close; Legacy evaluation (promotion), 10 minis or 10 micros. Read from apextraderfunding.com on 2026-10-23.

Updated 23 October 2026. Runs in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded.

It starts at $50,000. Today's limit is set from it.

The trailing max loss limit follows it. Blank uses the balance.

Contracts allowed today
2 minis today

or 20 micros (1 mini = 10 micros). The "$0 – $1,499" row of Apex's Scaling Levels (PA), measured on profit over the start at the last close. Next: 3 minis from a close at $51,500, $1,500 away.

Fits one 8-point ES stop

2 minis or 20 micros. One ES risks $400 and one MES $40 at this stop. Today's allowance is the limit, not the stop.

Stops until the limits
  • At 2 minis ($800 a stop): 1 stop before the daily loss limit; 2 stops before the max loss line, and the next one reaches it.
  • Max loss line $48,000 ($2,000 under the highest close, locking at $50,100): $2,000 of room. Daily loss limit $1,000, which ends the day, not the account.

  • EOD evaluation
50K: 6 minis or 60 micros. Max loss: $2,000, trailing the highest close. Daily loss limit: $1,000, ending the day, not the account.
Micros: Ten micros equal one standard contract against the cap ("ten (10) micro contracts equal one (1) standard contract"); the cap covers every open position on every instrument, and an order over it is rejected, not a violation. The cap is fixed for the whole evaluation from the first trade, the same on EOD and Intraday (50K: 6 minis, 60 micros or any mix, such as 20 MES and 4 NQ). No Activation Fee evaluations follow the same rules. On Rithmic and WealthCharts the threshold stops at the profit-target balance; on Tradovate it trails on. The calculator lets it trail, the stricter reading.Sources: EOD Evaluations, edited 2026-06-05; Position Sizing – Evaluation, edited 2026-04-15; EOD Drawdown Explained, edited 2026-04-28; Daily Loss Limit Explained, edited 2026-04-15; No Activation Fee Evaluations, edited 2026-06-05

50K: 10 minis or 10 micros. Max loss: $2,500, trailing the highest balance, open profit included. Daily loss limit: none in the calculator.
Micros: The Legacy Products page prints each plan's micros at ten per mini (50K: "10 (100 Micros)"), but the Legacy Evaluation Rules page says "You can trade micro contracts up to the maximum contract size listed for your plan". The calculator counts a micro as one contract, the stricter reading. On sale again as a limited-time promotion: the home page links "View Legacy Accounts" to the Legacy Products page, though its own FAQ says "No longer available for new purchases" and the Legacy Products Overview says they haven't been sold since 1 March 2026. • Legacy Performance Account (PA) (not in the calculator)Half the plan's contracts until the end-of-day balance passes the start + trailing drawdown + $100, then the full limit from the next full session, kept even if the balance falls back (50K: 5 contracts, then 10 from $52,600).Source: Legacy Contract Scaling Rule, edited 2026-04-15

A $3,000 end-of-day drawdown locks at +$100 once profit reaches $3,100.Source: Apex Live Prop Trading Program FAQ, edited 2026-10-14
Method and privacy

Method: Apex Trader Funding's caps, scaling rows and loss limits as its own pages word them, read 2026-10-23 (the newest page edit 2026-10-15). A scaling row, where a plan has one, comes from the last close (or the highest, where the firm keeps a row once reached); one stop-out has to leave the balance above the daily and max loss lines; where the firm's pages disagree, the notes name the reading taken. Slippage, commission and news-time caps are left out.
