What the official sources say
Since 10 January 2025, Bank Indonesia, rather than Bappebti, regulates and supervises financial derivatives whose underlying is a money-market or foreign-exchange-market instrument, which it calls PUVA derivatives. Derivatives on securities, such as stock indices and single foreign shares, moved to the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The authorities said licences Bappebti had already granted to PUVA derivative firms may remain valid.
Bank Indonesia's rules for these derivatives (PADG No. 26 of 2025), in force since 1 December 2025, set licensing and consumer-protection requirements and cover PUVA derivative dealers, brokers and advisers. OJK's task force against illegal financial activity, Satgas PASTI, asks the public to check a provider's legality through OJK's official channels (Contact 157) and to report suspected illegal financial activity at sipasti.ojk.go.id.
