What the official sources say
At a Government press conference reported on 2 December 2020, the State Bank of Vietnam's Standing Deputy Governor said the regulator had not licensed any forex trading platform, so trading on such platforms may be considered not in accordance with the law. He advised people not to invest through them and to trade foreign currency at officially licensed credit institutions.
In March 2021 he added that the State Bank had not licensed any enterprise or organisation, other than the existing credit institutions, to trade foreign exchange. Both statements were reported by the Government's online newspaper, baochinhphu.vn.
