What the official sources say
Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission says only entities it has registered may promote investment services, give investment advice or solicit funds from the public in the Nigerian capital market, under the Investments and Securities Act, 2025. It asks investors to verify a platform's registration on the Commission's portal before investing (public notice published 14 May 2026).
Its warnings include CFD brokers offering forex to Nigerians: in a notice published 30 January 2026 it said one such broker, offering forex, stocks, indices, commodities and crypto, was not registered or licensed by the Commission to solicit investments from the public or to operate in the Nigerian capital market.
