Online forex platforms and the SECP in Pakistan

What the official sources say
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has warned about unauthorised online platforms, typically based offshore, that offer Pakistanis forex, securities, commodities and options trading without licensing or oversight from any Pakistani regulator, and in April 2025 it named one such platform as not authorised to operate in Pakistan. It advises against opening accounts, depositing funds or sharing personal details with unregistered platforms.
The SECP says trading in listed securities and commodities can be carried out only through SECP-licensed securities and futures brokers, and points to the lists of authorised brokers on the websites of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX).
