What the official sources say
The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission has stated in its advisories that it does not allow the registration of forex in the nature of commodity or financial futures contracts, contracts for difference (CFDs) and similar derivatives, nor of their brokers, because the rules governing them remain suspended under Rule 11 of the 2015 Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Securities Regulation Code.
Its April 2024 advisory on one online forex and CFD platform adds that being a registered broker in other jurisdictions does not give a platform authority to offer securities in the Philippines, which needs registration with the Commission and a secondary licence.
